Glenn Sorensen
Rebel, 2007 | Oil on panel

Glenn Sorensen's paintings have a kind of transparent appearance, in which respect the representation of the subject seems to have been left open in a dark background. Figures, plants and flowers – the most significant motifs of this artist – have been set on the canvas in white. This small painting evokes a mood that cannot be identified immediately. A lonely figure is walking through a deserted landscape, while fragments of flora and fauna whirl through the picture. It seems like while the figure is looking around in amazement, he is also hiding a gun in his hands, which makes reality sound through in this mysterious painting.
